Santa, Star Wars, a Live Nativity and More Santas!
December in Lovington, Illinois is packed with events this year! The community must have been extra good, because Santa will be stopping in town on at least three different occasions. The Lovington Public Library will be hosting a "Star Wars Week" leading up to the release of the newest movie in the franchise. Also, the First Church of God will be holding a Live Nativity this year, as a gift to the community.

Crazy 8s Math Club Registration

Lovington Public Library
Crazy 8s is an over-the-top after school club that's designed to get kids fired up about math. Every week kids get to build stuff, run and jump, make music, make a mess... and make friendships at the same time. It's time for Math to become the cool thing to do after school!
The library has targeted this program to be offered FREE to boys and girls in 3rd - 5th grades. Pre-registration for this program will be held throughout the month of December. Parents must come in to sign their children up. The club will meet on Fridays, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Fridays.

Star Wars Week

Lovington Public Library
The library's "Star Wars Week" will kick off with a "Star Wars Trivia Contest" on Monday, December 14, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. All ages, including adults, are welcome to come participate. Questions will range from easy to difficult. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
There will be a daily drawing, Monday - Friday, for Star Wars prizes. Go to the library to put your name in for a chance to win.
A "Star Wars Coloring Contest" will also take place that week. Coloring pages will be available at the library. Winners will receive prizes and be announced Saturday, December 19.

The Lovington Park Recreation Board is inviting all ages to come out and enjoy a sweet breakfast with Santa Clause. Milk or orange juice will be provided to drink. Children will be able to give Santa their wish list.

Local Lovington vendors will have Christmas gifts on sale, including presents for under $10. There will be hot chocolate, cookies and hourly door prize drawings. Santa Claus will be stopping by from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. !

First Church ofGod Family Life Center
The Lovington First Church of God invites the community to experience the true meaning of Christmas by strolling through a live nativity scene. There will be character portrayals of the birth of Christ, as well as live animals.
After experiencing the live nativity, everyone is invited inside for hot chocolate, coffee and cookies. Children will be able to make a Christmas keepsake. This event is free, as it is meant to be a gift to the community.
